Thorn Expandable broadheads use an all metal aircraft grade aluminum ferrule with stainless steel crimped o-ring blade retention system. This design allows the broadheads to be easily opened with just one hand. The coiled spring retaining system allows the broadheads to keep their shape and securely lock on to the arrow shaft even when the arrow is nocked, pinned, or smeared. Once open, the crimped o-ring holds the blades in place until the arrow is removed. Once the arrow is removed, the broadheads blades withstand tremendous pressure and continue their flight until the crimped-edged blades smash into the ground. Thorn’s patented ‘thread-through’ o-ring design allows the broadheads to be replaced without any special tools. All Thorn’s broadheads feature an all-metal, stainless steel crimped flight-path and are engineered to produce larger wound channels and greater blood trails than the competition.
