Great dual rangefinder for rifle and bow hunting. Light, compact and rugged. The TBR function is accurate for both rifle and bow trajectories. The MOA function is spot on once the correct ballistic group is chosen. Great optics. Highly reccomend.

The 6x glass is great. I had the 1000 version with 3x and that was okay, but at 500+ yards, it wasn’t as easy to mark the target. Love the size and features. The new breakdown on ballistics is more granular, so will fit a wider range of loads.

Outstanding rangefinder. Excellent optics/internal engine. The 6x eyepiece is very nice in the woods or on the target range…crisp/clear image with ease of focus. The rubber coating is a big plus for silence in the woods/blind which some others do not have. More features than other brands and with 3 levels of brightness it is at the top of the heap…especially with the red led readout….cannot make out some others because of the color spectrum. Basically the functions are the same…just an upgraded engine…love the tenth (.1) of a yard readout as this is very handy for target. Having owned Bushnell, Leica, Vortex,…and 2 Leupold 1200i TBR W/DNA, this is the one I purchased based on quality and reliability when the time came to upgrade. My 1200i's are still running fine…it was time to add to the team as I beat the crud out of my rangefinders. And….Optics Planet fit the bill for the online purchase with an extremely competitive price without shipping cost. Leupold hit a homerun with this one.

Best range finder for the money. I’m extremely happy with this product. It’s definitely worth the extra money over the vortex ranger because of the ballistic calculators. Would recommend to a friend…..

I recieved this rangefinder as a gift and all I have to say is AWESOME!PROS: Small enough to fit in one hand, crystal clear optics, easy to read display in three brightness levels, simple to set up and use. The TBR function makes first round hits very likely (if you get the proper ammunition code entered, I didn’t get it right the first time) the codes for many common ammunitions come in the manual and are also available from Leupold. The TBR compensates for variations in ballistics when shooting uphill or downhill. It even has a mode for bow hunting (if you are into that sort of thing). This thing is dead accurate ranging all the way out to 1700 meters on a painted white steel plate. I wish my shooting was. Trees, rocks, deer and elk were easily and consistently ranged to 900 plus. Ground hogs, if you are steady, were ranged to 300 meters. They are pretty small and hard to see that far away even at the 6x power. I wear glasses and focus was perfect after some trials.CONS: None really, focusing with big fingers is a bit tricky but can be done in steps. The plus here is, the focused eye piece stays put even with hundreds of ranges, in and out of the case as many times and dangling from my neck while walking. The eye piece has a tendency to fog (externally) momentarily on cold days when you put it to your warm face but what optic doesn't? I try to keep in inside my jacket to keep it warm but often forget and the display is still readable even when the eye piece is slightly fogged. This year i think I'll try some anti fog cleaner on the eye piece lense. In all, a great product. I will now seriously consider Leupold when shopping for optics.

Excellent rangefinder, easy to use, lightweight and compact without sacrificing power.I mostly use it for shooting steel at distance where the wind hold calculation comes in nicely. Havent shot out to 1600 but even on non-reflective targets, like animals or if you put a heavy shirt over the steel, it measures 1000yds out.Occasionally I toss it in the golf bag as well.6x magnification seems to be a good spot, useful but still easy to hold steady. The reticle choices is a nice feature not commonly found on rangefinders. My only critique is that it would be nice to use a slightly more common battery like a CR123 than a CR2.
